Class Descriptions

  • Bone Builders (Bring your own mat)
    This high-intensity, low-impact class is designed to improve balance, increase muscle strength and bone density, and help fight osteoporosis through lightweight bearing exercises. Includes floor work on mats for a stronger, firmer core. Students participate at their own pace.

  • SilverSneakers Splash
    A fun, shallow-water exercise class that uses a signature splash-board to increase movement and intensity options. Suitable for all skill levels and safe for non-swimmers.

     

  • Aerobic Interval
    This class includes body-strengthening movement with hand weights, featuring four sets of moving aerobics and three sets of muscle work. The idea is to get the heart rate up, then slowly lower it by doing stationary muscle sets.

  • Dance & Aerobic Fitness Class Descriptions

    Zumba®
    A dance-fitness party featuring exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Get fit while enjoying the music. Suitable for all fitness levels.

    Zumba Gold®
    Perfect for active older adults seeking a modified Zumba® class at a lower intensity. Easy-to-follow choreography focuses on balance, range of motion, and coordination.

    Aqua Zumba®
    Blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance for a low-impact, high-energy aquatic exercise. Suitable for all fitness levels, including non-swimmers.

    U-Jam®
    A dance fitness class combining funky urban beats with easy-to-follow choreography, making dance approachable and fun for all levels.

    SOULfusion®
    A creative blend of rhythmic resistance, cardio conditioning, manageable mobility, and core strength exercises, all set to fun music.

    HighLow Fitness®
    A steady-state cardio workout tailored to the individual. It focuses on maintaining a manageable yet challenging aerobic state, with less joint discomfort and significant mental health and fitness benefits.

    Xtreme Hip-Hop®
    A fun, cardio workout for all fitness levels that combines stepping with grooving to hip-hop music.

  • Cardio & Endurance Class Descriptions

    Spin
    A highly effective way to build cardiovascular strength and endurance. Offers a challenging 60-minute ride with hills, sprints, and endurance intervals, accompanied by energizing music.

    Boot Camp
    A workout consisting of cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and stretching. Suitable for all fitness levels, with varied exercises in each session.

  • Chair Yoga
    This class moves your whole body through a complete series of yoga postures. Chair yoga supports individuals for a safe experience, allowing for a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement while reducing anxiety and stress.

  • Super Seniors (Chair class)
    A beginner class focused on improving balance, increasing muscle strength and bone density with lightweight bearing exercises using balls, bands, and weights. The class targets mobility, stability, flexibility, strength, and range of motion, with emphasis on hand/eye coordination and agility.

  • Yoga & Pilates Class Descriptions

    Yoga (Bring your own props; Blocks and straps provided)
    This class offers a combination of healthy alignment and the freedom to play within familiar and new poses. Suitable for beginners to advanced practitioners, the class broadens the range of capabilities through alignment and breath instruction. The practice includes some yoga philosophy, music, and humor.

  • Water-Based Fitness Class Descriptions

    Water Aerobics
    Utilizes water resistance to improve cardiovascular ability, strength, balance, and flexibility. Held in both shallow and deep water, it’s ideal for all fitness levels, including non-swimmers.

    Warm Water Fitness
    A great class for recovery from injury or surgery, adaptable to arthritis and individual needs. Takes place in a small, warm pool.

  • Martial Arts & Mind-Body Class Descriptions

    Tai Chi for Health
    A safe and adaptable program for all ages, improving and possibly preventing chronic conditions. Enhanced balance, immunity, and stress reduction are key benefits.

    Tai Chi Fan
    Participants gradually learn this form initially without a fan, followed by single and double fan techniques. Focuses on core tai chi movement principles, with beginners starting without a fan.

  • Specialty Class Descriptions

    Circl
    A mobility class designed to release stress, restore range of motion, and renew the ability to move better for longer. Suitable for all fitness levels.

  • SilverSneakers®
    This beginner-level class includes exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion, and activities for daily living. Chair optional. Uses light dumbbells, resistance tubing, and balls. Fun, upbeat music. Improve strength, flexibility, and functional fitness, with skill drills for fall prevention.

  • Balance Ball
    This class uses small weighted balls and primarily focuses on core strengthening exercises with multiple repetitions varying muscle groups. Incorporates some balance work sitting and/or lying on the ball.

  • Pilates (Bring your own mat)
    Mat-based Pilates focuses on strength, stability, posture, breath control, and flexibility. Each class works to balance muscle groups’ strength and flexibility, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles.

    PiYo® (Bring your own mat)
    A fusion workout based on the principles of Yoga and Pilates. This low-impact, high-energy workout improves balance, strength, flexibility, and burns calories. Suitable for all fitness levels.

    DDP Yoga®
    DDP Yoga uses dynamic resistance where you perform the same actions as lifting weights but without barbells, using your own body and muscle tension to add resistance. Low impact on joints, building strength, increasing flexibility, and burning calories. Appropriate for all fitness levels and abilities.

    M1ND®/L1FT®
    M1ND focuses on functional stretching, mobility, and stability training for non-yogis, complementing an active lifestyle. L1FT workouts use weights to sculpt lean muscles and increase metabolism, with progressive movements that ensure no fitness level is left behind.

  • Strength & Conditioning Class Descriptions

    RIP
    A barbell workout incorporating functional orthopedic strength training. Every movement plane is targeted using weight and bodyweight, with motivating exercises and great music.

    TRX Suspension Training
    A form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility, and core stability. Space limited to 12 participants.
