YMCA OF ALASKA MAT-SU ADVISORY BOARD
The YMCA of the USA is a mission-based, family-focused, organization with nearly 160 years of service in the U.S. The YMCA puts Christian principles into practice, welcomes and supports children and families and helps build the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility through programs that build healthy spirits, minds, and bodies. The nation’s 2,617 YMCA’s serve more than 20.2 million people each year, uniting men, women, and children of all ages, faiths, backgrounds, abilities, and income levels. At the heart of community life across America, mission-driven YMCA’s are “a place to belong” and to live the values that guide and unite our members. “You’ve seen one YMCA…you’ve only seen one YMCA,” according to the YMCA of the USA.
Focused on meeting the needs of our community, the Mat-Su YMCA conducted a survey asking our community what they needed, and based on those results, we offer after school programs, affordable swimming lessons, and teen programs.
