First Over the Edge a Success!

40 “edgers” help raise $60,000 for the Anchorage Community YMCA!

On Friday, August 12, 2011 hundreds gathered at JL Tower in Anchorage to cheer on 40 edgers as they rappelled 14 stories to support the Y! Over the Edge came to Alaska for the first time ever – but not the last. Planning for next year’s Over the Edge event is already underway and promises to be even bigger.

Thank you to all the participants and sponsors for helping to raise funds and awareness about the Y. All contributions directly benefit the YMCA of Anchorage in order to help us better serve our community.

Halloween at the YMCA

October 30th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

You and your family are invited to join us for our Annual Halloween Fall Festival at the Anchorage Community YMCA. There will be a variety of games and family activities for all ages to enjoy. Trick or treat alley, photo booth, spooky treats to eat, cake walk and the best part; it is FREE admission. Don’t forget to enter the costume contest and pick up entry form for best carved/decorated pumpkin for judging by October 28th.

Call 563-3211 for more information. The first 100 kids get a Halloween at the YMCA t-shirt.
